Synchronized swans

Did you know that swans mate for life? The same two birds will couple and then travel together for their entire lives.

I don’t know if these two are just friends, but it’s a nice image.

Views at the Swan Haven

The Swan Haven is on the Alaska highway outside Whitehorse. It’s a gathering place for trumpeter and tundra swans, who arrive in great numbers every year.

The Swan Haven asks visitors to stay far way and not disturb the birds. There are telescopes and binoculars for viewing.

Today the swans were visible, as well as two bald eagles on a vast frozen lake. (click images to zoom in)
